The sound of an ensemble is like a fingerprint — unique and unmistakable. It is a mysterious yet recognizable coherence. Like a person, an ensemble evolves, passing through different phases, encountering artists from diverse backgrounds, and searching for new directions. Yet, despite this ever-changing journey — full of surprises and unpredictability — its sound continues to develop while preserving its essence. This sonic identity shapes the compositions, and in turn, the works written from this raw material nourish the ensemble’s character.

The cycle of short pieces, detriti da canti precari is the result of a profound artistic dialogue between composer Filippo Perocco and l’Imaginaire, occupying a signifi cant place in the ensemble’s repertoire. It is a collaboration driven by a shared passion for sound, a deep sense of
friendship, and the freedom to break away from the conventional timelines of musical creation.

Composed as a tailor-made work for l’Imaginaire, this cycle of 14 pieces is like a treasure box – one in which we continue to gather the objects
we cherish…
