The immense impact of the approximately hour-long paraphrase of Tristan und Isolde
for string septet created by Martina Trumpp, violinist and leader of the ensemble, was
not initially foreseeable. The solo ensemble D´Accord performed the work in Wagner’s
residence Wahnfried during the Bayreuth Festival, in the royal castle Hohenschwangau
(where Wagner visited King Ludwig II of Bavaria in expectation of ever-increasing funds)
and also in the sold out Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg. A video recording was then made
in the Villa Wahnfried for the established video platform IDAGIO and streamed across the
world. Other highly renowned ensembles subsequently heard about this version which was then included in chamber music concert series by orchestras such as the Los Angeles Symphony Orchestra and the Iceland Symphony Orchestra. The next logical step was therefore a studio recording performed by the soloist ensemble D´Accord.
