In the past, concerts by city orchestras could be a rather ambivalent pleasure, where one sometimes expected the solo of the concertmaster with very mixed feelings. In the meantime, these orchestras have reached a level that makes a visit a real listening pleasure. Proof of this is this production by the Stadtorchester Aachen under the direction of Generalmusikdirektor Marcus R. Bosch. An additional benefit is the possibility (with appropriate equipment) to experience the recording in surround sound on a second, free CD.
