At best, the name Ignatzio Sieber (c. 1680–c. 1757) might still ring a bell today with Vivaldi scholars, assuming that the composer of these six sonatas is indeed the same person as the oboe and flute teacher at the Ospedale della Pietà in Venice. However, parallels with some works by his colleague Vivaldi there make this a likely possibility.
