Although the oboe repertoire is comparatively rich, Clara Dent wanted to record a different, tailor-made program for her solo CD. Fascinated by the immediate expressive possibilities of the vocal voice in opera arias, she therefore requested an entire program of arranged arias from the master arranger Andreas N. Tarkmann. He arranged the pieces in such a way for the oboe that they could be adequately “sung” and arranged on her instrument. The extremely successful result can be heard here and is no less fascinating than listening to one of the great singing divas.
